Which carmakers approve which GYS machines — and exactly what "approved" means.
The registry of GYS collision equipment approvals and specification listings, by carmaker and by machine, with the tier stated on every row. Kept current; sourced; no marketing words.
Three words, used carefully.
Named by the carmaker
The OEM names the GYS machine (or its OEM part number, like VAS 821 101B) in its own approved-equipment program or repair documentation. GYS calls this "homologated by car manufacturers"; we say approved.
Meets the carmaker's published specification
The machine meets the technical specification the OEM publishes for that equipment class, without the OEM naming the machine itself. GYS's "meets the specifications of car manufacturers."
On an OEM or program list, not the machine
The brand or family appears on an OEM, insurer or certification-program list (I-CAR, Thatcham, CESVI and the like) without a machine-level approval. We say so.
Words we don't use
You will not read "official" or "certified machine" here. Shops get certified; machines get approved, meet spec, or are listed. Quote the OEM's own term on its row.
The programs US shops ask about, and where GYS stands.
Tesla Approved Collision Center
Tesla’s own approved-equipment lists name the GYSPOT PTI Genius Plus, PTI Genius and PTI-S7 (spot) and the GYS AUTO P3, AUTOPULSE 220-M3 and NEOPULSE 300-T2 (GMA) for Model S, X, 3, Y, Cybertruck and Cybercab. Tesla lists a minimum software version and GYS type A caps for each spot welder — ask before you buy.
VW Certified Collision Repair Facility
Volkswagen of America’s Approved Welders position statement names VAS 821 101A — the VW-numbered GYSPOT PTI Genius Plus — alongside the VW-numbered GYS pulse MIG on the dealer equipment program.
BMW Certified Collision Repair Center
The GYSPOT PTI Genius is in BMW’s own parts system as C7502654 (400 V) and C7502655 (208–240 V), with BMW software and 16 mm A-32 caps. On GYS’s 2026 matrix for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce.
Rivian Certified Collision Center
On GYS’s 2026 matrix for Rivian: PTI Genius Plus, GYSPRESS 10T family, GYS AUTO P-series and AUTOPULSE 220-M3. Rivian publishes its equipment list to certified centers only.
Specification-based programs
GM Collision Repair Network, Ford Certified Collision Network and the OEC Collision Performance Network (FCA, Alfa Romeo, Hyundai, Genesis, Kia, VinFast) publish equipment specifications rather than brand lists — 220 V three-phase inverter spot welding, 10,000–12,000 A, 267–350 daN. The PTI Genius Plus runs 14,500 A and 600 daN. GM also asks for a GM software ID; ask your dealer.
Mercedes-Benz · JLR · Volvo
GYS states in writing that the PTI Genius line, AUTOPULSE and GYS AUTO P-series meet the requirements of Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo. The OEMs’ own equipment lists are behind their program logins.

Every row, by carmaker and by machine.
208 rows · 116 approved · 91 meet spec · 34 carmaker groups. One row per machine per carmaker. The basis column says where each row comes from; the tier column uses the three words above and nothing else. Last re-verified September 2026.

Basis.Catalogue 2026 = GYS’s own 2026 manufacturer-approvals matrix (Collision Repair catalogue, p. 60). GYS document = GYS’s per-carmaker approval document or letter, published on gys.fr. OEM list = the carmaker’s own published equipment list. OEM spec sheet = the carmaker publishes a specification instead of a brand list (Ford FCCN, GM CRN, Honda & Acura ProFirst, the OEC Collision Performance Network); the row shows the carmaker’s numbers next to GYS’s printed figures, and the comparison is ours. Where a carmaker runs a US certification program, its name sits on the carmaker’s header row. Rows marked discontinued are kept because the approval still applies to machines in service. Carmakers whose logos GYS prints too small to read with certainty are not listed until confirmed.

A registry, not a brochure.
Every row names its source
The OEM document, GYS's printed matrix, or the certificate on file — never "everyone knows."
On a schedule
OEM lists change. Each row carries a last-verified date and is re-checked on a cycle.
A tech answers
Need a specific OEM for a specific machine before you buy? Ask. A person with the documents replies.
Tell us if we're wrong
Every row has a "report an error" path. We would rather fix it than defend it.
Buy the machine the program names.
Your GYS dealer knows which OEM programs you're in and which machine and paperwork they call for. Ask before you buy.
