Two years, parts and labor, from the day you bought it.
GYS warrants every machine it builds against manufacturing defects and hidden defects for 24 months from the date of purchase, under normal use per the manual. Claims are handled in the US through the GYS network — start with your dealer or the form on this page.
Defects in materials and workmanship.
Manufacturing defects
Failures directly attributable to workmanship or defective components, when the machine is used under normal operating conditions per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Hidden defects
Defects present at delivery that show up later in normal use.
24 months from purchase
Counted from the dated invoice or receipt. Keep it — it is the document a claim is opened with.
3 months on the repaired part
Out-of-warranty repairs carry a three-month warranty on the components repaired. Transport is not included unless agreed.
Wear, misuse, environment, modification.
Consumables and shipping damage
Normal wear on cables, clamps, electrodes, caps, connectors, hoses and nozzles; damage in transit (note it with the carrier on delivery).
Wrong voltage, drops, overload
Incorrect supply voltage, drops or impacts, overloading past the duty cycle, non-approved accessories, unauthorized dismantling.
Water, dust, corrosion
Pollution, corrosion, dust, humidity or rain exposure. IP20 machines have no protection against water.
Coolant, air, grounding
Improper coolant (automotive coolant is forbidden in spot welders), freezing damage, contaminated air supply, incorrect arm installation, improper grounding, disturbances from the electrical network.
Five things end it.
The unit was opened or modified by anyone not authorized by GYS · the serial number is missing, altered or illegible · the machine was run outside its electrical specification · damage was caused by non-approved consumables · there is evidence of misuse, liquid ingress, improper coolant, freezing or contamination.
Do not open or attempt to repair the unit yourself. That alone voids the warranty. Call your dealer.
Three things, then we take it from there.
The dated invoice or receipt
The warranty runs from this date. No proof, no claim — that is GYS’s rule everywhere it sells.
From the data plate
The serial on the plate is the one that counts. A photo of the plate is best.
In writing
What it did, when, and what was connected. Error codes if the screen showed any. A real person reads it and replies within one business day.
One minute now saves a search later.
Registration is optional — the warranty runs on proof of purchase either way — but a registered serial means service already has your machine, your dealer and your date when you call.
Not sure if it is covered? Ask before you open anything.
